Below are instructions for transferring the Apple account to a new owner. The original account owner must initiate the transfer and the new owner must be an Admin on the account already.

Initiate Transfer Request

1. Sign in to your developer account and click "Membership details" in the top navigation.


2. At the bottom of the section, click "Update your information."


3. In the dialog that appears, click "Transfer Account Holder role," then click "Choose a candidate."


4. Select an eligible team member from the drop-down menu and click Transfer. This can be any of the admin listed on the account. If you need to transfer to someone not on this list, they will have to first be invited as an Admin under Users on the main page.


5. Read the Account Holder Transferor Agreement, then click Agree to agree to the terms.

Verify New Owner's Identity

The new owner will need to verify their identity using the Apple Developer app before accepting the Account Holder role. After you verify your identity in the app, you can sign in to your account on the Apple Developer website to accept the Account Holder role. Once your identity has been verified, it's associated with your Apple Account and can't be verified again by signing in with other Apple Accounts. To verify using a method other than the Apple Developer app, contact support.

Before you begin, you'll need:

• An iPhone or iPad with Touch ID, Face ID, or passcode enabled, or a Mac with the T2 Security Chip and Apple Silicon. You must use the same device for the entire enrollment process.


• An Apple Account with two-factor authentication turned on. Your Apple Account information must be valid and up to date -- including, but not limited to, your first name (given name), last name (family name), address, phone number, trusted phone number, and trusted devices.


• The latest version of the Apple Developer app installed on your device.


To sign in to iCloud on your device.

1. Verify your identity


2. Launch the Apple Developer app.


3. Tap or click the Account tab.


4. Sign in with your Apple Account associated with your developer account.


5. Tap or click Verify Your Identity.


6. If requested, enter your legal first name, legal last name, and phone number. Do not enter an alias, nickname, or company name as your legal name, as doing so will cause a delay in verification.


7. Take a picture of your photo ID.2 We accept passports in most regions, and some regions can accept additional types of government-issued ID, like a driver's license.


8. Review the information you submitted and tap or click Continue.
