"This is a queer group exhibition curated and serves as a collaboration between SOFASA and ASBC. It will gather university students across disciplines, identities, and years into a shared gallery space. This exhibition is critical, experimental, and making a safe space for queer students. Queerness here functions not only as identity but as method: a way of organizing space, disrupting hierarchy, and refusing normative categories of medium, authorship, and value.
Through an open call, students are invited to contribute to work that engages in questions of becoming, belonging, refusal, care, and collectivity. Paintings, performances, photographs, videos, and installations will coexist without disciplinary separation, encouraging unexpected encounters and solidarities. The gallery becomes a site of queer assembly, messy, relational, and alive.
This exhibition will feature minoritarian practices and shared vulnerabilities within the university, framing the exhibition as both a refuge and a site of resistance. Together, the works imagine a queer common: not unified but held together through difference."
May 13th - May 27th, 2026 8am - 4pm on weekdays only. may 27th will be the closing event, that will have music and food to celebrate Pride and the queer artists.
